How it works
Every booking link and widget here goes to GetYourGuide, which takes the payment, sends the voucher and handles cancellations. Partner id 7GG5I5H is attached to the link so the sale is credited to this site, which usually means a cookie is set in your browser. Nothing is added to your price. I do not take payment, hold bookings or issue tickets myself, and I cannot change a booking once it is made.
I am not the railway
This is an independent guide. The Gornergrat Bahn is run by Gornergrat Bahn AG, part of the BVZ Group, and the operator’s own website is gornergrat.ch. That is the place to check live departures and to buy at the counter. Nothing on this site is official, and nothing here is endorsed by the railway.
There is no cheaper online price
Worth saying plainly, because affiliate sites usually imply the opposite. Booking a Gornergrat ticket in advance does not save you money: the summer return is CHF 132 on the booking page and CHF 132 at the window. What booking ahead buys you is the queue in July and August, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. What actually cuts the fare is a pass, and passes are bought elsewhere and used at the counter — see the discounts page, which sends you away from my links roughly half the time.
What the commission does not change
No operator has ever paid me to describe a ticket a certain way, and there is no paid placement on this site. The tickets here are judged on the fare against the operator’s own tariff, what the listing includes, what it states it is not suitable for, and the rating alongside the number of people behind it. That is why one review here tells you plainly not to buy that listing, and why the review hub spends as much space on restrictions and weather as on what is good.
Prices
Prices on this site are in Swiss francs and were correct against the 2026 tariff when I checked. Fares move, seasons change the figure, and the line is closed from 2 to 14 November 2026 for construction work. The figure in the booking widget is the one that counts. Questions about any of this?
